"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast." - Ernest Hemingway

New beginning

Born and raised in Kansas, attending college in Texas, and will soon be studying abroad in Paris, France... I just booked my appointment with the Consulate General of France in Chicago to apply in person for my visa, and it looks like this fall is finally becoming more of a reality.

What started out as a natural ease of understanding basic French verbs and nouns through my ballet training has become a career plan, because who can turn down a career that allows you to see the world and call it work? So my travels commence this September because, as my academic advisor told me, "study abroad is not 'required' for a French major, but is strongly encouraged." I will be spending a little over three months studying at a French university and living with a Parisian family, and I have decided to document my experiences on this blog so that my family and friends back home can keep up with my travels. (A natural conclusion when your mom is a blogger.)

“A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of Life." -- Thomas Jefferson
